Project Information:
Design of the 17 bridges/structures of the Glafkos River Interchange near the New Port of Patras
The project includes the following bridges:
- 5 Bridges of Right Glafkos Arterial Road with a total length of 570m.
- 5 Bridges of Left Glafkos Arterial Road with a total length of 540m.
- 3 Bridges of Ramp A with a total length of 140m.
- Ramp B Bridge (148m)
- Ramp C Bridge (76m)
- 2 Bridges of Ramp D with a total length of 180m.
- 34m existing Bridge expansion.
The Bridges consist of a single or twin box-girder superstructure from reinforced or prestressed concrete. The design of the Interchange was a challenging task, as it was constructed in a residential area, with existing constrains such as the local road network, Glafkos River as well as the future highspeed railway line.
